Single Rider Lines at Universal Orlando Resort 2022 - Fast & Furious

Single Rider Lines Overview

Universal Orlando offers single rider lines on major attractions for both its main theme parks and these lines can be a great time saver when utilized effectively. Plus, the best part is that they are completely free. This makes them a great alternative for guests looking to save time in line without spending the extra money for Universal Express passes.

Although, it’s worth mentioning that single rider lines are a less predictable time saver than the Express passes. Single rider lines may also close for the day if the park is not busy or close temporarily if the single rider line reaches a certain point deemed to be too long.

Also, another advantage of the single rider lines is that they are offered for the resort’s two newest rides where Universal Express is not currently accepted. These two rides include Jurassic World VelociCoaster and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.

When to Use Single Rider Lines

Single rider lines work best for guests visiting the park solo or those looking to save time in line without spending money on Universal Express. They also work well for guests visiting in a small group who just want to get on as many rides as possible in the day and are ok with being separated while they ride.

Also, single rider lines move exceptionally fast on attractions with an odd number of guests in a row or vehicle. Two examples of this are Men in Black Alien Attack which features three people to a row and Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls which features five people to a log.

When to Avoid Single Rider Lines

Groups Looking to Sit Together or Parents with Young Kids

As posted signs state, and as team members will remind guests regularly, parties in the single rider line will be split. So, groups looking to ride together should enter the regular queue instead.

This also includes parents who don’t want their young kids to ride solo. Plus, certain attractions require a supervising companion for kids under a certain height to ride anyways.

When Queues are Part of the Attraction Experience

Also, we recommend skipping the single rider line for some of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter attractions when riding for the very first time. The queue for these attractions are part of the storytelling experience and are worth extra time in line to see once. These attractions include:

One could also make the case that the Jurassic World VelociCoaster queue is worth seeing the first time too over the single rider line.

When the Single Riders Line Reaches the Entrance (Sometimes)

Single rider lines are designed to save guests time, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Occasionally, the wait time ends up being equal to or more than the regular wait time. This situation can happen due to the unpredictable nature of party sizes in the main queue.

Also, the best way to avoid this issue is to check with a team member at the entrance and ask how long the singles line is, if the end of the line is nearing the entrance. For example, a single rider line reaching the entrance at Jurassic World VelociCoaster can take upwards of 40 minutes. If the posted wait time is that or less, then it’s worth entering the regular queue instead.

Guests Looking to Purchase a Group Ride Photo

This one should go without saying, but we’re saying it for safe measure. Guests hoping to purchase the on-ride photo in a family or group should enter through the regular queue instead to ensure everyone sits together on the ride.
