Six Flags Announces a Brand-New Theme Park in Saudi Arabia

A new Six-Flags-branded theme park was officially announced today for the city of Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia. Quiddiya will be a new premier entertainment, sports, and cultural destination for the country and expects to welcome guests in 2022. Located just 40km from the country’s capital, Riyadh, Quiddiya provides an ideal vacation and leisure destination for the capital’s 7 million residents. Additionally, Six Flags is partnering with Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund to develop the park. This Six Flags park will serve as one of the key anchors to the new entertainment destination.

In a statement, the Chief Executive of Quddiya claimed “Our goal is to create an exciting one-of-a-kind destination that will draw visitors from throughout Saudi Arabia to experience record-breaking roller coasters, innovative rides and attractions, as well as the sporting and cultural facilities that Qiddiya will offer. By partnering with a global leader, we know that we are going to deliver something exceptional.”

Six Flags currently operates 20 theme parks in North America and multiple more theme parks are in development in China, and Dubai with opening dates in the next couple years. This new park in Saudi Arabia is just one more step in Six-Flags’ ongoing international expansions.
