Jurassic World: The Ride Roars Into Soft Openings at Universal Studios Hollywood
Jurassic World: The Ride began soft openings at Universal Studios Hollywood on July 4th. The ride features new scenes from the previous Jurassic Park River Adventure and introduces new dinosaurs like the Indominus Rex and Mosasaurus.
Jurassic World Ride Experience:
Riders begin their journey by crossing through the Jurassic World gate into the aquarium observatory section. In the aquarium, riders encounter the giant Mosasaurus as it swims around them. Next, riders pass through Stegosaurus Cove, from the original attraction, before reaching the new Indominus Rex exhibit. The dinosaur looks to have escaped which leads to a thrilling second half of the ride starring the Indominus and Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Overall, Jurassic World: The Ride introduces a modern refresh to an already thrilling attraction. Fans of the old attraction should enjoy the new scenes on top of old favorites such as the 84-foot drop.
About Soft Openings:
Soft openings provide an opportunity for the park to run a technical rehearsal of the ride and tweak things as needed. During soft openings, the ride may open for the full day, part of the day, or not at all. The ride may also close at any time. Additionally, Universal Express passes are being accepted when the ride is operating.
The Jurassic World Area:
In addition to the ride, guests can enjoy new and updated experiences themed to Jurassic World. Firstly, guests can meet Blue the Raptor and a friendly Triceratops at Raptor Encounter. Although, be smart about what you wear! Blue may be extra friendly if she sees raptor merchandise, but can go a little crazy if she sees a T-Rex on your shirt. Furthermore, park guests can quench their thirst at the new Isla Nu-Bar and grab a prehistoric bite to eat at the Jurassic Café.
Stay tuned for more details about the ride and the grand opening date in the coming weeks!
