Carowinds Reveals New Multi-Launch Coaster for 2019

With granny’s famous recipe, Carowinds cooked up something good for 2019 including a brand-new roller coaster, Copperhead Strike! This new coaster is the first Mack double-launched roller coaster to come to the Carolina’s.

Copperhead Strike starts off with a slow jo-jo role right out of the station. Then, the ride launches riders from 0 to 42 mph in just 2.5 seconds! After the launch, riders will flip through a series of inversions, speed through tight turns, and launch a second time during the ride.

At over half a mile of steel and adrenaline, this world class thrill ride will impress riders for years to come.

In addition, this coaster is part of a new themed area coming to the park named Blue Ridge Junction. This new 7-acre immersive area will feature new rides such as Copperhead Strike and delicious food options at the new Blue Ridge Country Kitchen restaurant.
