The 3 Best New Additions to Universal Holidays this Year!

The Holiday’s at Universal Orlando Resort are bigger and better than ever before this year! With tons of new shows, a new parade, and more, there is so much to do at Universal Holidays this winter. And of course, there are still some of the old favorites around like Grinchmas where guests can learn how the Grinch saved Christmas and more. Also, don’t forget to try some delicious Hot Butterbeer while it’s in season!

1. The Brand-new Universal Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s

This brand-new parade is a great addition to Universal Orlando during this holiday season. It’s a huge upgrade from the old parade and features all new floats, giant balloons, and plenty of characters. These include some of your favorite characters from Despicable Me, Madagascar, and Shrek who all pitched in to help the parade come to life. Even Santa has come to spread some Christmas magic at the parade. Likewise, King Julian from Madagascar even brought presents, although they’re all for himself of course.

Viewing Tips: Our top spot to view the parade is in the New York section. Guests here will be treated to snow and confetti during the parade and can also witness Santa light up the giant Christmas tree. (Note: The Hollywood section of the park also has snow and confetti during the parade)

2. The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle (New Projection Show)

So, what happens when you combine the magic of the holidays with the magic of the wizarding world? Well, you get an extra special new addition to the wizarding world such as the new Hogwarts Castle projection show. This new show is a magical sight to see and may just be the best addition to Universal Holidays this year. It may even be our favorite projection show we’ve seen at any of the parks yet! It starts at sun down and runs about every 20 minutes until park close. (Note: There is usually one show after the park is closed that has a whole lot less crowds)

Viewing Tips: The best view of the projection show is about halfway back on the pathway that leads to the Forbidden Journey entrance, to the side of Flight of the Hippogriff. If you are too close to the castle, you might not see both sides of the projections on the castle.

3. Celestina Warbeck and Her Banshees – New Holiday Show

Celestina Warbeck has a fantastic new show for the Universal Holidays and it’s fantastic! It features plenty of the Wizarding World Christmas classics such as “My Baby Gave Me A Hippogriff for Christmas” and “Nothing like a Holiday Spell”. And just like always, she can be found on her stage in Diagon Alley while she spreads the holiday cheer.

Universal Holidays runs from November 18th till January 6th and is a great event you’re not going to want to miss!
