The Incredible Hulk Coaster Ride Overview

Launch out of a gamma-ray accelerator and immediately flip upside down to gawk at other park guests and the water 110-feet below on The Incredible Hulk Coaster.

Themed to an experiment gone wild, this roller coaster takes a turn for excitement from a burst of gamma radiation. After the initial launch, riders hit speeds of 67 mph and flip upside down seven times throughout the ride.

Overall, this flagship roller coaster offers heart-racing thrills perfect for the thrill seeker in any family. It’s also a great ride to start the day with at Islands of Adventure, before the crowds arrive. Plus, since the 2016 refurbishment, the trains now offer on-board music which makes the ride feel like an epic cinematic experience, in our eyes.

Loose Articles:

Loose articles, outside of your park ticket, are not allowed on the ride.
Riders pass through a metal detector in the queue and must leave loose articles in a locker or with a non-rider before entering.
Secure items like belts and watches are allowed.

Lockers:

Lockers are available across the pathway from the ride entrance, located next to Cafe 4.
Free small lockers are available while you ride and can hold items including phones, empty Coke Freestyle Cups, most cameras, and small bags like purses.
Larger lockers than can fit backpacks inside are available to rent starting at $2.

Guests use their park ticket or annual pass to rent and re-open a locker, so keep your ticket with you as you ride. If you accidentally leave the ticket in the locker, find the assigned Universal team member nearby for assistance.

Ride Priority: High – Plan this into your day.

Best Time to Ride: For the shortest wait, ride during the first 60 minutes the park is open. This is a good ride to start your day with. Night rides on this coaster are also a great time, if the park is open past sunset.

Best Seats in the House: Front row, if you are willing to wait extra. The trains are compact so rows 2 through 8 all offer a similar ride experience.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster flips riders upside down 7 times, tied for the most inversions in the state of Florida.
In 2015, the ride closed for an extended refurbishment where the track was entirely replaced, the queue redesigned, and new trains purchased. It is almost a whole new ride!
