Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal's Islands of Adventure 2022 Featured - United Thrills

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Ride Overview

Join Hagrid on a thrilling adventure through the Forbidden Forest and encounter rare magical creatures on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Although, the journey won’t always be easy. Along the way, riders must escape the Devil’s Snare, avoid a cave full of Blast-Ended Skrewts, and hold tight on as the magical motorbikes lose power at one point.

This ride is Universal Orlando’s most themed roller coaster to date and replaced the former Dragon Challenge roller coaster. Plus, the ride provides a moderate thrill ideal for most guests, without being as intense as Jurassic World VelociCoaster or The Incredible Hulk Coaster.

Loose Articles:

  • Bags and loose articles that do not fit in pockets are not allowed on the ride and must be placed in a locker.
  • Riders can keep items that fit in pockets like phones and wallets, but we recommend against it. The ride vehicle moves enough that items can fall out of loose pockets. Also, even items in pockets are technically not allowed according to Universal signage, but the policy is rarely enforced.

Lockers:

  • The lockers are located next to the entrance of the ride.
  • Free small lockers are available while you ride and can hold items including phones, empty Coke Freestyle Cups, most cameras, and small bags like purses.
  • Larger lockers than can fit backpacks inside are available to rent starting at $2.

Guests use their park ticket or annual pass to rent and re-open a locker, so keep your ticket with you as you ride. If you accidentally leave the ticket in the locker, find the assigned Universal team member nearby for assistance.

Accessibility:

  • Guests in wheelchairs must transfer onto the ride vehicle.
  • Learn additional accessibility information on Universal Orlando’s website here.

Our Recommendations

Ride Priority: High – Plan this into your day.

Best Time to Ride: For the shortest wait, ride during the first 30 minutes after the park opens or the last 30 minutes before the park closes. Also, night rides on this roller coaster are a lot of fun, so we recommend riding at night once during your vacation if you can manage!

Best Seats in the House: Half the seats on the ride are motorcycles seats and the other half are sidecar seats. We recommend grabbing the motorcycle seat in your row of two seats. While all seats on the ride are fun, we love zooming along the track and pretending to drive a real motorcycle.
