New Marvel-Themed Land Coming to Disneyland California!

Marvel Studios just announced today that a new Marvel Superhero-themed land will be opening at Disneyland California in 2020! Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout will be the centerpiece of this new area. In addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider Man and the Avengers will also play a prominent role in this new superhero universe.

Likewise, to make way for the new Marvel attractions, A Bug’s Land will be closing late Summer 2018. “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” already permanently closed yesterday, March 19th.

This new land announced for Disneyland California is in addition to Marvel-themed lands already announced for Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. Similarly, in the press release, Marvel gave new details about the Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris:

  • First, a brand new ride featuring Iron Man and the Avengers will be launching in 2020.
  • Secondly, a new live action stage show featuring state-of-the-art effects will provide guests with an incredible experience this summer from June 10th to September 30th.
